New car order delays

Mine arrived at the dealership in Stockport on Friday the 7th. VW are hopeful the data to allow registration will be released this week so if (Big If) I’m lucky, might get it week commencing the 17th

I ordered it on 26th June - 5 Door GTI, PP with 7 speed DSG. Coming from driving Discoveries for the past 14 years really looking forward to it

I have just had an update text that my order is now at 5C. In Transit (near the UK)

What does this actually mean, near the uk? sat on a ship somewhere?

I think it means it’s left the factory on the way to the docks at Emden. Mine moved from 5 to 7 in about 10 days.

Interestingly, GTI Performance is now back on the on-line configurator after an abscence of some months so something has moved - hopefully the WLTP data is being released that will allow registration?

5a - on the way from the factory to the port of exit
5b - at the port of exit waiting to be assigned a ship
5c - on a ship and on its way to the UK. VW and your dealer can see which ship its on you can ask them for the name and you can track it.

Did anybody notice the 6sp manual gti is 155g/km and the dsg 143g/km as far as I'm aware this means the first year tax on the manual will shoot up to £500

I think its down to the body that issues the MVRIS codes now, all we and VW can do is hope they come through asap

Dealer just rang, saying codes issued. Car awaiting transport to dealers. Should have car next week
