RJW’s Golf GTD – Blue2
« on: 16 June 2018, 20:48 »
Evening ladies and gents. It’s been a while since I last actively used this forum, back in 2009/10.  At the time I was looking to get a MK6 GTI but eventually gave up waiting for it to be built / delivered.  After that I moved onto a couple of BMWs, both were breathed on a little during my tenure.  OK, I admit it, I’m an addict.

So, this morning I picked a 2016 GTD, an early Father’s pressie for me.  Here’s a few pics from the pickup location:

O, and ordered this earlier this week, so my habit remains:

Current:
2018 RS4  - Navarra Blue / Black
Gone:
2016 A6 BiTDI - Midnight Blue / Black
2016 Golf GTD with a "lot" of toys
2016 M3 CP - Mineral Grey / Black
2009 135i - Le Mans Blue / Black

Nice colour choice.I was torn between night blue and carbon grey.Chose carbon in the end.
When i went to collect it (new) an elderly couple parked up next to me in a blue one.I said to the salesman 'oh,that's a better colour!.Bit too late.
Current: Golf GTD MK7  3 door manual carbon grey.

It was either carbon or dark blue for me, so great minds think alike.

Damn right Chief!.Carbon looks fantastic when i can be bothered to wash and Autoglymn HD wax it.Rest of the time it just looks black. It is a hard colour to keep clean.
Midnight Blue is the rarest colour of the GTD's.
Got yourself a top car there.Almost 3 years in with mine and it hasn't put a foot wrong. No faults at all.

Great colour choice for a GTD.
There’s an NB GTD lives a few doors down from me and it’s a colour that suits the GTD really well.
I’m not keen on GTIs or R’s in that shade but the GTD carries it off perfectly.

GTD really suits night blue. I 'might' be getting my hands on a 7.5GTI in Atlantic Blue - think its a bit lighter

I just picked up a 7.5 GTI PP in Atlantic Blue and can confirm it's lighter. Actually it changes a lot in different light; bright sun and it really pops and can see the metallic bits, looks almost like Lapiz. But then it's much darker and nicely muted in cloudy or less sunny conditions. Can you tell I'm smitten?
GTI PP 245; Atlantic Blue, Art Velours, Climate windscreen, KSS, genuine 18" Black Pretoria.
