I'm back PROJECT time.***Pics Added***
« on: 17 February 2013, 10:16 »
Well after being away from a Dub for nearly a year I've decided it's time to come back in the shape of a MK1 tin top. I've restored a Mk2 1990 16v gti and modded a 1.8t mk4 now I wanna play with a mk1. Got a few ideas just need the mk1 to get things going. Keep looking around (eBay, gumtree, forums auto trader) but not found what I'm after yet. Don't really wanna spend anymore than £1000 as I do like a project but saying that the straighter the body the better. Colour not zn issue and preference is a 3dr. Any one know of anything please give me a shout I don't mind a road trip to pick up.
Cheers
Darren

Well i have my project..... its a MK1 (1981 X reg) golf 1.1c in a pastel blue colour 37K and i'd say genuine miles, 3door, Non sunroof in a fair condition.
Now i just gotta decide what sorta look i wanna go with and what engine to convert it too.
I might have to start a build thread when i finally get going.
Lots of inspiration about thats for sure....Lots of reading done and still to do.

It's as I got it at the moment. I drove it 200 miles home from Sheffield last Saturday. I thought I'd broken 2 ribs by the time I got home

Why, what suspension is on it?  I would have thought the three would help soak up bumps.
