Title: Golf Top Trumps
Post by: Overseer on 01 March 2004, 08:08
shamlessly stolen the idea from Shell's new optimax thing

a set of Golf top trumps would be cool! :)

We could have a pack with all the members cars...
You could have a 'desireablity' option
And number of valves.....
And of course the usual weight and such like...

This would of course mean that any mk3 8v would be the worse card in the pack

 ;D ;D ;D ;D

lmao  ;D

I was thinkin stock for the whole range.. think would be cool :)

stuff like...

CC
BHP
0-60
Weight

err?

Valves is a funny one, so is cylinders i'd leave them off.. put em on the card, but dont class as a value for fighting with.

a golf range educational game.. lol

I think you could have Torque aswell.

You'd have to have cylinders or Golfvr6 would be upset.

maybe..

home now,.. just lookin at the optimax cards..
cant believe i missed Top Speed off above

the optimax top trumps has the following categories..

top speed / 0-60 / max power (bhp) / mpg / engine capacity / cost when new

Cmon, everyone knows the MkIII 8v is a complete slug.

Took about 7 grand to get mine to go anywhere! It does go now, but to be honest the performance it has should have been the standard! :)

Problem with the Saxo again is, they are shonkly put together the chassis is of a poor quality so is the build, so the Mk3 would win on both those counts, acceleration is debateble (sp) though, close one

... both are approx 9.8secs (according to Parkers)

altho the new facelifted VTR with 100bhp is 9.2secs. ... but with my exhaust and K&N ill be beating that!  :D

the old vtr had 98bhp  ???

K&N and 'zorst will give you about 5bhp and a whole lot more noise.

The old VTR had 90bhp and then the Saxo's got the crystal style headlights and fogs and the VTR was upped to 100Bhp

Lets all face the fact that mk3's are slow unless they have a VR6 or a 1.8 T. Ive got a mk2 GTD and I would race any mk3 8valve and whoop their ass.

There not exactly how do I say it 'sh!t off a Shovel'.

The best thing to do with a mk 3 engine is put it in a mk1 or a mk2.

<sarcasm alert>

jv's patented "random wind up generator"

choose one from:

my car is quicker than yours
my car is newer than yours
old GTI's are better than new ones
diesel is better
i have more torque than you
i beat a supercharged vr6 off the lights in my mk3 8v
a vr6 isn't a GTI
New Golf's are too heavy
cabrio = skip
mk3 = lardy jelly mould
mk5 = 307

stand well back and watch it fly!

</sarcasm alert>

 :P   :P   :P
