I'm in! It's the main reason I brought a golf.

If there is enough serious interest about doing this I could possibly get something organised as I am on very good terms with the Evo Active guys. What they can also offer is beginners groups, instruction etc. Not sure if anybody has been on one of their days but they are well organised and considering some of the exotica being driven, remakeably not up their own arses when somebody in a golf turns up (probably because they all seemed to have owned one in the past) that costs less then their insurance premium!

If anybody did bring a French car, they would whoop your asses!

My 1.1 AX, which gladly caught fire enabling me to buy a Mk 3 GTI, would not have whooped any arse!!

Theres a lot of cheap track days in November and December coming up at Donongton,if you arrive for the afternoon, you can often get on for ?40 and have four hours driving.

I'd love to take my mk2 round a track, i've been looking at doing it for a while but it was hard to find a VW only type day
Title: Re:trackday, bring it on!
Post by: kniterider on 27 October 2003, 19:59
yep were gonna have to sort a VW only day at a central circuit where we can all access, did nt manage to get on saturday, but will get some prices this week! im not a moderator on trackdays and motorsport pages so i dont think i can start a poll! if i could we could se how much interest we can get, 40+ members to do a trackday would be really good and would bring the price per person down by a large amount!

Kool Ideas you all have is there any danger of sortin it, before xmas????

Several of us in Basingstoke are lookin for a proper track action day, yes we all changing to VW's now!  Bit of a bad luck with some french s#*t.

Will help to organise it, if you need it. ???

I'll try and have a word at the weekend and see the amount of cars we need to make it viable
Title: Re:trackday, bring it on!
Post by: kniterider on 30 October 2003, 14:24
yep we need central location that is where all can get to!,  i think to be honest we should be deciding which tracks are suitable ie:location, cost etc and then getting on the blower to find what dates are available! ( i want a dry day!), then the next thing is payment! we have to really ensure the people that say they are going are going! cause if people back out those that are left are footing a larger bill!, right im not that clued up on where all these tracks are but what are we going to say is central? i would say some thing like donnington, even though the track id really like to hammer round is cadwell park!, i havent got time at the mo, if some one can reply with a list of central uk tracks and there locations ill bang it on a poll and see which one is voted the better track/location! think that would be a good starting point!
