i dunno about the colour thing, but its defo got the anniv wheels on

i looked at an anniversary before i got my golf, it was silver and had bbs wheels like the VR6.

It was definately an anniversary, it said on the V5 and it had the dodgy red interior, a golfball gear knob and red seat belts.  I don't know if the wheels or gear knob were standard.
