My replacement was ok up until about 4 months ago - as has been said it's just the two tabs nearest the washers that have become ever so slightly too short so pop out - just need to think of some material I can maybe stick to the back to extend the tab by about 20mm so it stays in place.

Recently had an offer of £30 per month on the all in plan. Seem to have a black Friday deal each year so worth looking out.

I don’t suppose there are likely to be any more upcoming discounts? I am buying a new car and VWs plans are now £37.50 per month. I don’t think that is particularly bad but it is quite a leap from last years prices looking at this thread

Surely the replaced wheel has its own warranty?

Under VW’s new car factory warranty, items replaced during the warranty period are only warrantable up to the expiry date of the warranty. From the warranty T&C’s on VW’s website;

’Any part which is replaced becomes the property of Volkswagen. Any replaced parts are covered for the unexpired period of the vehicle warranty.’

https://www.volkswagen.co.uk/en/owners-and-services/my-car/important-information/warranties-and-insurance/new-car-terms.html

I'd ask citizens advice if that is actually UK legal tbh.... I don't think it is.

Consumer Rights Act 2015 I believe will effectively state that the repair was not completed....no matter what VW might say.

Yes indeed, I’d tend to agree with you here, it’s not a new fault, it’s the same fault that a new part did not fix, they can’t just say ‘we put a new part on it, so though sh*t’.

It's not software... Its the hardware.

The software can be updated on them all but largely the software problems have been trying to deal with the myriad of parts changes they made...

Yes, my final one remains good. I think it was about the lugs that didn’t fit far enough into the slots on the bonnet underside allowing them to sag.

Golf mk8 / Mk8 Gti changes from 2020 - 2024 model year

Hi Folks,

Just wanted to know if anyone else has info on this. Is there any difference in tech / parts / softwear between a 2020 model year compared to say 2021 / 2022 / 2023 etc. I know from reading that alot of people say stay away from a 2020 model year due to the softwear issues but would the same apply to a 2021 car etc.

Mine are cheaper and more rounded from JL styling Parts on eBay

Ignore the rust, pic was taken to show a Bodyshop to repair

The rear valance is a pattern one but the sideskirts are genuine VW but they are very expensive for what they are

Any link please

Had this replaced under warranty on my 2019 7.5 and was told it would not last by the dealership. 20k miles later and it is still fine. Material seems slightly different from the original.
