@ Highland28 feel for you  hopefully it doesn’t end up costing a fortune.

@ CHB Great timing!
My youngest son arrived home to stay the end of last week as uni halls were clearing people out. First time I’d seen my other car for weeks and immediately noticed the two rear tyres were on around 2mm or slightly less on the outer edges (3.5mm in middle despite pressures being kept in tolerance).
I quickly phoned the local tyre depot to get a couple tyres booked in for Tuesday. They stayed open for my son but were waiting to shut up shop, they did the whole safe distance thing and he brought the car home again with new rubber boots.
Damned if they didn’t replace the fronts instead!! The ones on there still had 4mm plus
So I still have semi-slicks on the rear
Not much I can do as they closed up to hibernate due to business drying up overnight.
They’re normally very good so I’ll forgive them.
I’d hoped to rest up the newly cleaned GTI for a few weeks but looks like I’ll still have to commute in it. More chance of being pulled over than ever right now so tyres need to be in good condition.

@Eccie lovely to see a white GTI with that much shine. :afro:

I’d hoped that would raise a few smiles.
Normally I’d have been pretty hacked off but under the circumstances I did find it quite funny!

Having done lots of long mucky journeys over the winter months, it was looking a bit sorry for itself so I gave it a wash. Before and after...

Criminal to let it get that dirty in the first place...…
Why?

It's just a Golf
It's ceramic coated for extra protection
It's just a Golf
It's not an ornament, it's used daily for a multitude of family duties
It's just a Golf

Oh, did I mention that it's just a Golf...
