There is the option of handing it back, but his GTD that he knew and loved will be long gone, so he won't exactly be back to square one.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

Emailed VW today after finding another problem on it. Not the best at these sorts of emails but this is what i said anyway... Any advice on how i could go about this? yes i should of spotted all these problems on the day but sometimes you just miss things.. :(

Hi Adam,

Couldn't be bothered driving back down after this but basically, the car pulls massively to the left and is actually pretty scary to drive at speeds of over 70mph in (as i found out on the motorway), not only this, but the electronic wing mirror adjustment dial is completely shot, i can't select the options (Left or Right), as the dial sticks in between them. This will need wheel alignment and probably a trip to my local VAG dealer.

Now both of these problems as well as the fact that you sold me the car with 3800 miles more on it than was advertised have honestly left me feeling somewhat annoyed. Although i enjoyed our chats about remapping etc and S4 4.2Litre V8's... I would of hoped that you could of told me of these problems!!

Now i really like the car, but feel as though i've had my leg pulled abit here in terms of dealer to customer honesty, therefore for obvious reasons my customer satisfaction as of right now is rather low and am for the first time disappointed in the VW group.

I would appreciate it, as a gesture of good faith if you down at Vindis VW in Bedford either compensate me back for these issues (Seeing as if i part ex'd my car with almost 4000 miles more on it, you'd offer me significantly less), or allow me to resolve the problems myself and at my own expense, and then photocopy the receipts and send you these which whereafter you can reimburse me the appropriate amount. If neither of these options are for you, then i will either pursue further action or i'll be using my 30 day exchange offer!!!

Hope to hear back from you ASAP.

Regards, Harry Norman.

Damn dude..sorry to hear! Hope you get it all sorted out. To be fair you did address the issue rather civilised so kudos to you mate! I've known people who have gotten their way by making a racket, and I disagree with this kind of behaviour. At the end of the day everyone is just trying to do their job with a bit of peace

Anyway, that GTI was a bit cheap to start with and also it didn't have the xenons which would've gotten you frustrated down the line anyway! Haha

Good luck dude, all the best

Duuuuuude I just don't wanna screw up your car! haa. We should totally organise a Northern meet. I've had quite a few modded and standard mk6's that have waved or flashed at me, I'm just too scared to post a 'spotted' thread

Quick update on the post i put a good few hours ago...

They've offered me £200 in compensation.
They've agreed to pay for the geometry wheel alignment, front and rear.
Also going to fix the wing-mirror adjustment dial.
Free service too.

Should i settle for the £200?

Its more the principle of it if im honest, i bought a car through a trusted VW dealer advertised at 36k... and when i picked it up it was 39.3k.

But never the less... Its still faster and nicer sounding than my GTD was and has fancy toys so yeno  :smug:

Sounds a reasonable offer and outcome.  If you accept, make sure you've got what's agreed in writing first.

Then you'll just need to sort your xenons out

Thanks, just emailed them requesting it all in writing, always forget things

Hah yeah indeed had a few emails with a VAG specialist in Manchester and he sounds like he might be able to sort it... for £130...

Ahhh... so many plans....  :smug: :smug:
