Hey guys and gals.
I expect to get thrashed for this... But I noticed that VwVortex has a few cars that they have modified :undecided:
Is it not possible for this forum to do that too? I understand money dont grow off trees so dont call me a spoiltbrat. :rolleyes:
Surely if we could get a few sponsors we could possibly perhaps use one of the cars of a generous user on this forum and use what money the sponsor gives us to do some modding etc? Would that not perhaps also help with bringing in some extra money for the forum and capture more interest?
Just an idea. I know its not the greatest or most practical but I thought I would share.

Im not entirely sure. The vehicles on the VwVortex site are apparently owned by the people who bought the car in the first place. I.E the user.
perhaps when the user decides to sell the vehicle thats been modified by forum money he could pay a certain compensation to the forum which could be used on the next car?

Been here with the mini club and it's a nightmare best avoided. It's all great to begin with, loads of people donating parts and time etc. Eventually everyone loses interest or is unable to donate time and it gets left at someones house. THey eventually get fed up of having it in the way and arguments ensue as to where it should go next.
Also as Len has pointed out who gets to drive it? WHo has to stump up the insurance?
It's more trouble than it's worth.

Is golfgti.co.uk classed as a company? If so could it not be registered to that? Not sure on that though, just trying to think!
I kinda like the idea of this - but have to admit I won't be able to help with money, parts or any technical expertise! So at all then really! :embarassed:

To continue in the vein of Horney - as it will obviously be required to represent this forum at shows the owner would be expected to go to every event and who pays for the petrol?

couldnt donate a lot in the way of time money or expertise but if you lot want a base car and i keep the end result id happily let you use my car :wink: :wink: :wink: but then again i wouldnt want it ending up with Blue rear lights so maybe not!!! only joking Len....

my mk3 can b used if ya like :cool: its in a bit of a state lol how about if sum1s willing.we pick a car that sum one owns and put ideas to the owner and they modd it and take it to shows e.t.c with a golfgti stand????

hate to state the obvious but we already have around 12420 Members. thats a feckin great big garage of modyfying dub addicts already working on their forum cars. :cool:

how about this for an idea.
get everyone registered to submit a pic of there finished dub project &have a poll once the pics are in , then all members can vote for the best car on a monthly or yearly basis etc as the forumcar of the selected period
the winner then recives a prize ( donated by sponsors etc & get to attrend the shows & meets for free as cgti car of the month year etc .
