Noisy PAS pump!

Hi, My MK2 PAS pump is getting very noisy. Its a 2ltr Passat bottom end. I was wondering if i have a choice of cars to get one from, or is it specific to the Passat engine? Also what sort of price am i looking at for a second hand one? Danny.
