Tyres?
« on: 29 November 2017, 10:50 »
Hi
Mot station just told me I need one new tyre, but car is currently on 195s

I know the correct size is 215 40R16, but what speed and,car lad rating should they be???

What brand do you all recommend?

Then I need to decide whether to get four new correct ones, or just stick with the 195s

Thanks

One new tyre?
I'd always replace as a pair.....

Why do you think it should be on 215?

Yeah, will replace two - never a single

215 is what’s stated in factory spec.

Probably coming in a bit late on this. But with the recommended tyre size mentioned, sounds very much like the wheels are the 16" BBS split rims on an Anniversary.

Mine has 195/45 16 on but to be honest look a bit lost underneath the arches. But that's what came on them when I purchased the wheels.  I'd stick with the standard size and I believe Kumho Ecsta tyres are very reasonably price compared to others in the 215/40 16 size. V rated will be fine. Good reviews as well.
