Some really insane attention to detail, I love it.
Great work.

Roof being cut out ready for a carbon one :)

Bye bye roof skin and sunroof.

Berg Cup arches arrived today from HR Engineering ;)

Front end coming off ready for a new modified one.

This turned up today :)

The golf has been fully stripped, and all non essential metal work has been cut out.

Dipping this week :)

The Golf is now back from being stripped and to describe how it looks in one word "amazing".

When it left us just over 2 weeks ago we weren't sure what to expect when it came back. Was there going to be more holes than metal, would we have to start all over again. The answer is no, the shell is in great condition for its age few issues but nothing an order from VW Heritage wont sort out.

Bit of rust in the back panel, was easier to remove it and replace with an OEM unit

After Finding an AGU 1.8t engine from a Mk4 golf, we set out to rip the engine apart.
Here's the Progress so far:

Here's a few pictures of the paint shop where the MK1 is being painted.

Ultimate Paint and Chip Repairs http://www.ultimatep...prepairs.co.uk/

These Guys are highly skilled and there finish is excellent.

The car came back late yesterday afternoon with a thin coating of etch primer so it doesn't rust.
Next step is fabrication of the roll cage...

Seriously nice.

Obviously most projects on here are being done by the car's owner and maybe a helpful mate, so the comparisons aren't fair. But how many guys have you got working on this and what's your timescale?

We have 1 welder doing all the fabrication work, cage etc.
Then me and another mechanic working on the engine side of things.
Once the paint has been done it will be a 5 man team to bolt everything in as we are showcasing it at Autosport in January so we don't have long to do it.
