i think it would be a worthwhile mod doing, it cleans up the rear end but you dont have to worry about installing 'pop locks' and them going wrong and not being able to get your boot open lol
-
you had any problems with fitting your alloys?? i was looking at some amg merc rims yesterday look

No mate, the wheels are tsw holstens with a merc badge and they are 5x100 so are a perfect fit for the car.
-
 never would thought they are tsw's... good chioce
-
 they are audi monoblock replicas, so based on an audi design. defo a marmite wheels, either love them or hate them.
I had seen a pic of a us spec jazz blue anni with the actual audi ones and it looked sweet as faa  Hadnt planned on going as big as 19's but this set of wheels came up at the right time

Was up at the VW garage having a moan about my Jap spec rear bumper not being here yet!! Thats the last thing to get done to the rear  lol
Got my stubby aerial today, so thats on already lol
Still giving these stubby mirrors abit stick and the blanks for the handles.
N75j valve...... what is the scoop?
Since having the car re-mapped.... it goes like stink but its like it pulls well up to 1800 rpms, then the lag kicks in and it's like it's struggling to keep up the power and then it hits 3500 rpms and it's like a jet taking off!
Is that normal? I've never had a car remapped before and the lag was nothing like this before remap. Heard lots of different things about the n75j valve so was hoping it would sort this lag problem out??
-
And finally after a good clean today. Stevie got the stubby mirrors, door blanks and the stubby aerial fitted aswell. :D After alot of sweary words at the driver doors.
And now for the arty finished pics,

How much was that bumper mate? And how long in total did you have to wait for it in the end?
-
It was £136.92 plus VAT and waited about 5 weeks.
It goes into paint a week on friday as the painter is having some holibobs. God knows who he thinks he is having holidays when I've got this bumper sitting here needing painted!!!!!   It'll be worth the wait tho
Think should be the last of the "body mods" untill I decide on handles

oh no no, i had planned on taking it to transcal and having a pro do it!
as it is they are using the audi half leather and alkantara fabrics to recover my mk4 rear bench! so it all matches nicely!
Just need to sort out this MAP sensor flange for my FMIC  it's sickening having it sitting in my living room and cant get it on the car!!

-
Very nice car mate, love the smoothed look you have going on without loosing the rub strip's which IMO ruins the look of the golf, and makes it very impractical and prone to crack and look sh!te
Wouldn't mind a vortex front on mine but my wallet doesn't agree with me for some reason
Sam
-
Looks nice.
Am I the only one who thinks it looks like a roller skate though
Top work so far.
-
Am I the only one who thinks it looks like a roller skate though
Must be, that extra inch must make a whole lot of difference since EVERYONE is doing 18's.
The holstens sat in my livingroom for 2 weeks while the car was in the bodyshop having the bonnet done!
Wouldnt want a bird like me anyway, I'm more into my car than some of the lads i know! lol

Still looks nice though
-
What splitter is that you have? It looks like the anni one, but flatter if you know what i mean?
Wouldn't mind getting my hands on one
-

-
Cool, cheers mate - now you all know the next question... where can i get my paws on one?
-
They're pretty rare, ebay or the stealers do them.
-
They're pretty rare, ebay or the stealers do them.
ebay.de get's more of them, but given the weak £ against the € you'll be paying much more than last year.
-
That's a shame, oh well its waaaay down the list of mods for me anyway
Did a google search and found a site in america that sells them but they were $500 each
-
just wondering how you got the boot done like that did you have to buy anything from the mk 5 from vw like the lock or something if so how much was the part
-
yea, just the whole tailgate from someone breaking a mk5 lol

-
so do you have to use a different key or does it still work using your same key fob sorry to be a bit nosey but how much did the bodyshop charge to do the work cos i was thinking of having my boot completly smoothed but have been told the popper things can be a bit unreliable and just wanted to get a rough price to go by.
-
erm, the mk5 rear handle is just a handle, there are no keys. it works off the central locking, had to get an auto sparky to wire it up. depending on your guy allow 100 bucks for it
managed to win the tailgate on ebay for 13 quid, body work wise it was take old handle out, weld a plate in and then cut the whole handle out the mk5 tailgate and graft it on to the nk4 tailgate. alot of work. i was quoted 350 but got svag club discount so 300.

The body shop must love you lol how comes you didnt just get all the work done in one go?
Looks quality!
-
It wasnt meant to happen tbh - it was just meant to be a good looking daily driver... and then i put it in to have the stonechips removed from the bonnet and bumper.... and i thought the rest of the body work was fine... it just kind of snowballed, I wish I had just stuck it in for a full hit - but at the time i didnt think it needed it!
once the front had been done, then i got the handle done - and the rear bumper arrived after the tailgate had been done......
so front and rear looking totally mint the sides looked abit scabby - just to mke like, everyone else thought they were fine.

Looks stunning, what new wheels are you getting.
-
if they ever arrive, i'm having some bother with rim style!
I'd like to keep it to myself atm - I wouldnt say they were anything overly special. I just need to get my head round them first, as I still really love the holstens and i'm worried these never wheels aren't going to look as good to me!
That probably makes no sense to anyone, but it does to me
-
TBH. i dont like the Holstens lol. i'm looking forward to seeing it on something else
-

Now its at this point that I must say... I've been stringing you guys along with these wheels! I've had these for a couple of weeks now and managed to keep shhh about it! I was gutted about the keskins but I saw them on another Jazz blue when we were down and it made me feel better that they didnt work out!!
Couple of changes since the weekend, I'm now tintless - going for a "cleaner" looks and got the ko4 001 turbo to get on there.
Few changes planned over the winterm quite major if i'm honest so watch this space
-
had a nose round this on the weekend, looks very nice in the flesh
-
How much did the mk5 boot handle job set you back looks the real deal
-
looks really good that wheels suit it much better now
-
thanks guys
Should've introduced yourself!! We didnt stay long as I had some bad news so had to head back up to scotland asap.
The tailgate is defo the real deal, working mk5 handle/badge -wasnt cheap, I bought the whole mk5 tailgate from a chap on ebay - managed to get it for 13 quid  and was about 350 for the work, but that was discounted quite abit
I like the wheels, give the car abit GRRR, was worried about them TBH but I aint no girly girl so it's all good
-
Awesum!! :)
-
love it. top marks,
-
Looking Sick as ever mate !!!
-
Is the front seats from an Audi tt ,did it need any mod to fit it
-
They are from an A4 cab. Electric and heated  they needed abit of jiggery poker to make them fit, unless your any good at or know someone who is good at abit of fabrication work then I wouldnt bother - I paid just over £300 for the interior which was alittle worn for an extra 300 could've just got my own front redone to my own spec. As it is I'm having the audi seats recovered in the next couple of weeks as the rears make them look not as good as they could
They are really comfy tho

Hey Sas, gtta say i love the car although i am just a little annoyed at the fact that ur a lady and you have a better car than me lol i think that just out of principle we should trade and you should start fresh!
Just out of interest how much was it lowered before you fitted the air suspension?? and what size tyres did you have 235/35 r19??
