Stupid question but...

Has some one stuck that on for show??..

Or has it had a 16v engine transplant!!!..

Maybe not a 16v badge at all just me being stupid...

Also very sad thing I noticed...

It has the mk1 campaign p alloys (with 9 p's) the later mk2s had 8 p's!

Very sad that I know facts like that?(If there correct, someone may know different...)

Hello all,

Just a note to say that the first Mkll's were registered on an A plate aswell - My Dad had one - single tailpipe.

I've got a C reg Mkll - just like the one on this thread!

- It's Mars Red...

I might be seeing it wrong but doesn't it have the cutout for a single pipe and yet there are twin pipes fitted. That looks the same as my tailpipe and I was told that I had  a Scorpion exhaust system.
Looks like there has been some mods going on here. Maybe you're right Ben, maybe it is a 16V. :-/

Bloody hell  :o you are a keen enthusiast.
I'm at work now, but I just caught an email from you before I left.
Thanks for the comments about the Audi, I certainly don't regret buying it. This is my second coupe, my first was one of the GT's with the 5 cylinder engine. Had it for 10 years and it never let me down and I never had to do any non-sheduled work to it. Before that I had a Mk1 1600 Golf GTI.......fun ;D
You mentioned something about the seats and the folding mechanism. This is a 5 door Golf so the seats don't fold. Bummer really as my Cabrio has the same problem with the seats not folding forward.

I'm not a complete geek!...honest

My mate who was round on the weekend has a beautiful mk1 campaign,he pointed out the difference in the wheels!

Not to worry about the seats, gives me a good excuse not to get out to let passengers in the back!

Another worryingly sad fact from me!

The mk2 seats has the fold mechanism(I think) (no wires though)you can add the handle and wires apparently...

Personally I'll wait as I dont plan to be carrying more than 1 passenger as all my mates are too fat and slow me down!

but may be useful for your cabrio...

Oh OK, thanks. I'll have to have another look at the Mk2 seats......never even thought to look, hope you're right.

The badge under gti on the front is 8v for sure,so i asume it is a 8v,  ???  and as for the wheels they was what was on it when i brought it, i have had it less than 2weeks and dont know hardly anything about what the previous owner may have done to it in anyway,as for the exhuast, all i can say is that it was fitted at a kwik fit place as i found the receipt in the glove box,and it cost him ?100.
keith.
