ummmm  tryed starter  engine didn't spin much....

some rummageing later found a 50mm2  lead with some eye;s allready crimped on,  upgraded time

still didn't spin much -   engine is appearing somewhat siezed right now,   anyway  plugs out and load of scaffeze tiped down the holes  that'll kill or cure

so had a look round for some more shnkeyness

and found.........  a knaked caliper

a nasty exhaust

slight sub optimal looking bias valve

and the boot won't open  so wondering if its full of dead hookers

also apart from the space saver and knackerd calper this side looks ok

however this side looks pissed  going to be needing a new stub axel me thinks

alos found some rust but nothing scary  will deal with that later

anyway the scaffeze works and motor now spun  quite enthusiasticly - spraying scaffeze everywhere ah well

put the plugs back in and still won't bloody run tho

so listen for fuel pumps nothing.

so the intank pump  get evicted  it din't even get excited when voltage was applyed directly,  fortunaly had a spare lift pump so that went in.

still  main pump not intrested, so for the short term fix to get it going

we'll be putting some wire on here and connecting them to here

24 volts the wrong way up it a few times got the littel bugger pumping,  dosent sond to clever but it's making 3 bar of pressure with plenty of return flow, that'll do on a sunday.

still won't go,

so out come the plugs and compression test .........    and another suprise   13.5 bar across the board but can't smell petrol.  so more more citrus fresh gets squired down it's throat,  it sort f runs on this  and lets out some magic smoke
then with a quite inpresssive bang removes the K&N filter from itself.

so off comes the return line to sample the fuel ........

ummm  actualy looks like fanta or cider piss ,  smells more like cired piss tho.   anyay i'll leave the bottel hanging around  will undoughteld be quite funny at a later date,  pumped off 5ltrs of manky fuel into a can,  so the petrol pixies are going to have to play petrol can rulet now   3 cans     2 have super unleaded in , the other may as well be full of piss.

anyways  clean the plugs up and trys again

well it runs now at least,   tho quite a lot of magic smoke is escapeing

ant enjoying the finest volkswagen magic smoke

to much suprise and disapointment the engine after a while did start to retain it's magic smoke  tho it sounds flat and like most of the newness has been extracted but at least now it;s mobile so can drive it in and out the workshop.

now to aquire another motor

all the VW's have gone bar 1.

someone may well still neck the "fanta"  as its still sat in the garage looking rather like fanta,   chould help in solveing the mistery of what it actualy is,   makes a crap substitue for petrol tho.

sadly unlikely to have it on the road by then there are a few f**ked bits that may as well progress straight to upgraded bits.    i am NOT buying any 239mm brakeing components
