Title: Child Boards for MKIII, MKIKV & MKV sections
Post by: Rhyso on 08 August 2007, 19:53
just looking through the forum and the MKIII, MKIV and MKV sections have accrued a number of stickies; would it be worth them having a maintenance and info board like the MK1 and MKII sections

just thought it might tidy things up a bit

Good idea.

But who in the Mk5 section is gonna decide what is "maintenance", and what is general chit-chat?

Missed mk5 out - better do that, or does such a new car not need much maintenance? (haha)

Missed mk5 out

you might confuse them by introducing another board though; some haven't found their way out of the MKV section

Referring specifically to the Mk5 board - will any of the exisiting threads, which are clearly maintenance issues, also be moved accross?

Usually the sticky topics automatically move across to the child board. You can then post any maintenance topics in that child board, but any other threads in the main section would have to be moved by a mod to the child board, so if you had any specifically in mind then you'd need to inform a mod if you felt it should be moved in there and I guess they can then decide.

I find the child board is a bit of a strange system...

why not have an actual maintance section and have all the child boards for each model in there...
