My 2016 GTI
« on: 12 June 2016, 19:13 »
Hi,

New here but thought I would get a Members ride thread up to share my experiences with my MK7.

Its Carbon Steel Grey (ordered Pure White but had a change of heart just before the build week was confirmed and switched to Grey)
5 Door
DSG
Non-PP
being a 2016 model it came with the MIB2, Winter pack, Xenons etc etc.. so the only option box I ticked was the App Connect so I can listen to Spotify and use my iPhone easily from the HU.

Picked it up fresh from the Dealer in January:

Since then Ive just been keeping it clean (which is a task in itself)

Quick interior shot from the queue to Ultimate Dubs

Switched up the GTI badges with some skins from Badgeskins

Then I added some rear mudflaps ( I know, its a marmite thing but I wanted to try and keep the hatch cleaner for longer)
Also test fitted the 20mm H&R spacers which will be going on once I lower the car. I also have a set of 10mm for the front.

Eventually I want to remove the front plate and have a the front end smooth US style but for now I got some (most probably rather illegal) Tinted plates for shows

Also, Last week I couldn't wait any longer and bit the bullet and ordered VWR Springs from Awesome:

Springs are due to be fitted by GRM in Northampton next month and I can't wait to be rid of that wheel gap !

Next on the list will be wheels. I have a set of 19" HRE's from my A4 sat in the shed that I need to sell and then I'll be on the look out for something OEM and 19"

Thanks for reading

Hope you are enjoying your GTD !

My VWR springs came from Awesome GTI via their eBay store ( a few quid cheaper)

mate, you've got a piece of pearl. But I'm bit confused about the color. Is it black or black rubin?

If it’s the same car as the one at the beginning of this tread it’s Carbon Grey. The car is in the shade in the most recent pictures (from July this year) which make it look darker than it really is.
