which splitter? the duck bill one? ebay for that one.

luck, NO, none of that lol but then its not about luck, its about not being a dumb arse and checking over a 26yr old car before you buy it, but i clearly didnt do that!

I decided on the 9A because it looks the same as the KR that came out of it and the ABF is a taller block so I wouldnt of been able to use my 4in1 manifold and polished inlet i dont believe.
Even though its not original I didnt want it to be blaitantly obvious when you open the bonnet.
Plus this one just happened to come up for a good price and only 67000 miles on it.
It is still a little later than the original engine so I think there may be some plugs to change but im hoping its fairly straight forward for the garage.

Cant believe the amount of money ive sunk into this so far, Im at about £3000 and the car looks like this...

I always say if it's a car you want, then it doesn't matter what it costs, some people would say, it's not worth it, but if you enjoy doing what you are doing then who cares lol

little update, the engines in, just trying to figure out a few wires which dont seem to connect anywhere on this new engine, the KR and the 9A must have different sensors  :undecided:

lol weve worked out the KR had 3 water temp sensors and the 9A only has 1, luckily it seems to have the right holes to put the KR sensors in and will see what happens...

This has been a mission, but there is probably not much more that can break! and on a plus note your battery tray looks rust free!

little update... shes still not starting, the 9A also has poor compression (100, 45, 75, 100) and the flap in the metering head isnt opening... dont really understand whats up with it.
The head is currently being rebuilt, re-seating the valves and stuff as they did a leak test and there was smoke coming out number 2. Just leaving it in the garages capable hands at the mo

yeah that compression is way low. maybe the piston rings are gummed up. the flap wont open unless there is good vacuum from the engine so if there is no compression there will be no vacuum.
