driveshafts??
« on: 14 September 2010, 22:06 »
Hi, well ive come to replace my drifeshaft and theyve sent me one the loks differnt but assured me it would fit,
so rather than spend 2 hours on my back trying to struggle id thought id post it on here see if anyone could re assure me or confirm it will fit,

are 1+2 the same? will the longer bolts go directly into the gearbox output flange? replacing the shorter ones with using the spacer?
have serched for info on this and couldnt find any so sorry if its already been posted,
thanks for any help,

as long as the bolts fit then the shaft will fit fine, its just some models need the cv further out for clearance

The top on is from a 6 speed box car and the old one is from a 5 speed box car , but it can be done using a longer bolt but is a hassle to find the right size and thread size ... it be easier to just get a 5 speed shaft ... I got a spare available if u interested !

no it isnt, m10x48, thread pitch is still the same, its actually off a few different models that need the extra clearance of a longer cv.

the 6 speed auq uses a hub bolt and not a nut so its def not a 6 speed shaft

2wd 6 speed is different from the 4wd 6 speed !

that drive shaft is not off any 6 speed car, 2wd and 4wd use the same front shafts iirc.

ok, my apologies, the bolts are am10x52, part no 105 234 01 from vw

or m8x48 893 407 237, im struggling on etka to see the differences between the 2 listed driveshafts.

is there any part no's on it and i can check, i think its off a 4 motion if the bolts are m10s which will still work with your car

why? the tt will be different shafts surely, the golf 4motion shaft is listed but looks identical to the fwd except smaller bolts to hold the cv onto gearbox
