Title: Mk6 GTi CCZ Engine Problem P0016 code
Post by: George@wyrerecovery on 10 March 2019, 14:06
Hi just wondering if someone could give me some advice on this, I’ve got a mk6 gti it turned 99k full Vw history when the tensioner failed and the timing slipped. I bought a new timing chain kit genuine from Tps and oil pump changed all 3 chains and newer style tensioner and put it all back together, it was perfect for 6 weeks 1500 miles when it started missfiring and was difficult to start. It has the fault code P0016 crank cam correlation, we have done the following since
New genuine cam sensor
New genuine crank sensor
Had the timing chain covers off and double checked the timing.
The car struggles to start has a rough idle but seems to run better up higher in the Rev Range.
Where do we go from here now? Any advice or ideas would be greatly appreciated thanks George

You seem to have a difficult one to solve. Not sure what diagnostics you have but if using VCDS I found this link helpful in deciding how badly worn things were. Might help if doing another timing check while engine is running. https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/432610-timing-chain-vcds-measurement/
