Just been chatting to Andrew @ Dtuk and he does not recommend the peddle box if your is dsg. Just for info for anyone considering it, apparently the dsg box hates it.
-
Interesting, several people report good results from fitting one to a DSG car - page 2 of this thread

By all means double check but thats what he said yesterday on the online chat. Mine is a Mk7 GTD dsg that already has there tuning box fitted.
-
Yes, with some more digging there are reports of people with DSG Rs fitting them and then removing them after having sensitivity issues.
This is a shame as I hate the initial dead feel of the Rs throttle and am seeking a solution.

Yep the dead throttle issue is on the GTD as well & I hate it even with the tuning box. I am considering a switch to Merc because of this as they don't suffer from it. Hope I have saved you some cash anyways?

I'm sure if it doesn't work DTUK will take it back.
They have a good customer service.

Indeed 14 days but why chance it if it's not recommended in the first place?
-
But several people are using it with DSG so its not as if you re throwing your money out the window. If it doesn't work there is nothing lost but time.
-
Looks like we need Andrew@DTUK to clarify the situation
I've PM'd him asking for clarification and to comment on this thread

Good point perhaps some that are using it with the dsg can offer there opinions ? Always good to have direct user input

I would also like to hear from any DSG owners who are/ using or have used it to hear their thought on how it behaves with DSG, and if they removed the box, why?

Fear not DSG owners, there are other options.

This is a circular link, I was trying to broaden the discussion by involving users of other forums, appreciate that many people use several forums but not everyone does

hmmm a lack of replies from current owners with dsg & peddle box seems to confirm what Dtuk said then?
-
I might be reviving an old thread but the throttle response in the mk 7.5 pp 245 DSG seems to be a lot better than my old manual mk 7 pp 230 (manual) ,and don’t feel a pedal box is necessary, where as I was seriously considering one in the mk7.
-
OK, so this has certainly woken me up!
Currently have 2017 Mk7 GTI 220 with pedal box. A great mod to add.
Soon to collect 2019 GTI 245 DSG.
Do I transfer pedal box or not..... bearing in mind the 245 may respond differently to previous versions of GTI?
Anyone with direct and well informed experience of same?
-
I would definitely try the new car first. But as you already have the pedal box, you may feel differently to me.

Try it without for a few weeks, then if it annoys you there’s the option of transferring the box over.
Having driven a few recently registered vehicles from various marques myself I suspect the response will still be rubbish even if it’s not quite as rubbish.
Everyone has different wants and needs, personally I like a sporty hatch to feel sporty.
-
It seems that the R needs or benefits more from the PB. I know mine is awful without it, and I mean enough to put one off keeping the car. Thank you all, Booth etc for the recommendation way back.
It's true our Mk7 GTI doesn't need it?
-
I've been using one on my non-pp 7.5 GTI DSG and its made the world of difference. I can't drive without it. Throttle response feels like I'm in sport mode when I'm still in normal. Haven't experienced any issues with the DSG.
-
Running a PB on my PPGTI7.5. Much better with than without.
-
Has anyone had any further advice, or can offer some concrete evidence that this works on the 7.5 GTI dsg please?
Thinking of trying one, but I don't want to waste money and time if they are not really suitable for my spec car.
Anyone tried one on the 7.5 GTI dsg?
Thanks
-
Ref my post above, I note that Cocopops is running one on a dsg and seems to be happy with it.
Anyone else with a dsg tried it and has any positive/ negative feedback?

I bought my 7.5P DSG in December last and ran the car as standard for 2 weeks, then decided to get a pedalbox. The difference is amazing and i certainly wouldn't like to go back to the standard format. Fantastic piece of kit.
-
Interesting - thanks Watchdog.

Mine runs on dsg and I wouldn’t be without it. Night and day difference.
