My Mk8 hasn't been delivered yet but I wondered what options there are with Spotify?

My current 8 series has the Spotify app within iDrive and you sign in and have access to everything. In the Mk8 is the only option via Android Auto?

I use Spotify through wireless Car Play and have no issues

Just spotted a few useful tips on a YouTube review:

When the heated steering wheel is already on, you can tap and hold the button to switch it off without having to go through the other two heat levels first.

Another way to mute or pause audio is a quick press of the power button to the left of the heater controls

To minimise the detail on the speedometer screen you can press and hold the VIEW button on the steering wheel, this removes the left side and right side information but leaves the centre in view, press and hold VIEW again to revert to full information

You may already know these but I've had my car for 3 years and they are all new to me.   :nerd:

Thanks Bill I wasn't aware of those, I'll give them a try tomorrow, still learning here after two plus years.
Also I think holding the steering wheel heating button in on your desired level remembers that level when you next switch it on.
Personally I never use it above level 1 anyway.

I think voice control gets switched off when your car is 3 years old unless you pay extra for it.

I've hardly used it so I won't miss it at all.

My wife collected a new ID4 last week and I've had a chance to play around with the new Infotainment and software in that car, which will be broadly the same in the MK8.5 Golf.

I gotta say guys, it's a an absolutely massive step forward. My GTI suddenly feels very old tech now

All these workarounds and tips/tricks you're talking about here simply aren't necessary in the new car. Because the software is designed properly this time. So while everything is still controlled via the screen, it's at least intuitive now imo, it makes sense, the layout is good, things are where you expect them to be. No more prodding around menus looking for things, the important stuff is always front and centre on the main Home Screen. And it's very responsive and slick. Your phone connects much quicker too, so no more waiting 20-30 seconds for your phone to appear on the infotainment. Oh, and the sliders are illuminated!

I think they may have finally figured out how to do this.

Still looks like an afterthought to me the way that it looks stuck on like a Blue Peter project.
At least the MK8 has a nicely integrated screen.

Agreed , it looks like it might work better and slightly more updated, but sticks out like a sore thumb , imo
