Maybe the RS4 is a better deal then 
But of course, 5 seats, huge boot - no contest . . . .
In reality, though, I suppose it depends what your needs are, as the Golf and RS4 are two quite different cars. The RS4, like all the A4/S4 range are a true 5 seater, with great luggage carrying capacity, and are extremely comfortable for long distance travel. Now the Golf, OK it is also a 5 seater, but being a bit smaller than the A4 range, and having a noticeably smaller boot, would be a lot less practical to carry 5 around on a regular basis.
One thing is certain though - you wont be disapointed with either!
