New gearbox required in London for MK4... any recommendations

Hello Everyone....

Well, driving around the M25 tonight.... and now no fifth gear and the noise of loose bits of metal in my gearbox!!!  :(

Can anyone recommend a good place (preferably in NW London) for supplying and fitting a new 5speed manual gearbox?  Also, any ideas on how much I should be paying?

What model golf is it? as there are a few different types of gearboxes.

Hi Jochen,

It is a Mk4, 5speed 1999 model?  Sorry was not aware there were multiple manual boxes on a mk 4.

There are loads mate, in the 1.4's alone there are 4 types.

What model is it, engine size?

Will always love my mk4 but she had to go...225 Quattro TT in its place....but its still black (she lives on in spirit!)
