GTI 1.8T 20V K04 NEW TURBO TURBOCHARGER

Evening all 
I've got a 2002 Golf GTI 1.8 20v 150bhp and although its a nippy little car i want it a littlemore nippy!  been thinking about getting it chipped after Christmas from a guy on EBAY who has a shop in Trowbridge, He charges around £200 for a stage 1 chip and said that will take mine upto nearly 200BHP with a PIPERCROSS VENOM FILTER + TRUMPET BRAND NEW WTCC DESIGN
 EBAY £119 and i will also need a VW GOLF PASSAT 1.8 20v TURBO FORGE DUMP VALVE FMCL007P
£84.99 + £7.50p&p  but then again i ve seen on EBAY again  GTI 1.8T 20V K04 NEW TURBO TURBOCHARGER for £259 + £9.99 p&p! If i was to get his turbo upgrade what else if any upgrades would i HAVE to get to have this to run smooth!? Or is it just best to it chipped?

I'd be inclined to go for a Pipercross panel filter, forge007p dump valve and a stage one remap mate, would still be a pretty rapid car and one save yourself some money

Don't buy that K04.... It will be a crappy chinese jobby and be as useful as a chocolate teapot!

I can not stress enough to not buy that turbo!!! It wont line up and if it does I give it 100miles and it will blow.

start reading up on things before you start buying all that stuff. from what you have said you have alot to learn.

avoid ebay turbochargers unless there genuine items, if you fit a K04-001 turbo then you will need a proper remap, not some crap advertised on ebay. passat 007p recirc valve? Forge do a 007p for a golf and it will need a stronger spring if running a k04

i could go on but suggest you read up on things before you start wasting your money on ebay cheap stuff

Cheers Hulmie for the info! how much do remapping go for? I'm just after a stage one chip, One VAG guy near me has said it wil be about £400 for stage one! Is that about right? The guy on EBAY doing for half that and has his own garage etc and 100% pos feedback.

There's a they are cheap mate. Genuine all the way with all the ancillaries is going to be expensive but for bolt on parts you will be happy with the response, I was!!

Cheers friends for the info and feedback!!    I live in Poole Dorset does anybody know of someone round my area (Dorset, Hampshire) who has good feed back with remapping/chipping at a good price for stage one?
