HELP - - suspension / alloys
« on: 15 February 2009, 20:43 »
hi again,  i have some 19" alloys with 35 profile tyres my golf has standard suspension and ride hight just want to know the noise i get and feel i get is normal or do i need to check something out.
i find the drive very hard ie( knockin sorta hard) when goin over normal size lumps and bumps in road. also when the wheels start to spin up a bit it seems to clonk knock etc.  ne ideas???  as i have only just got the car like 5 days ago.
now drivin a golf 1.9 tdi 90bhp ... time to rack up them miles!! as my daily

the ride will be harsh because your running a lower profile tyre and also the standard suspension isn't really designed to cope with the extra weight of the wheels you've put on

so do u think i should go for different suspension first and see if it solves this?  if so wot sort ? i know coilovers etc are the best but iam not minted and was thinking may be some nice -30mm springs etc??? i was thinking about goin down to 18`s but will have to ebay the 19`s first

i would say 18" and 30mm drop would hit the spot. I got 18" with a 50mm drop
