MK4 1.8 turbo track car project

Hi everyone i am looking to get a 1.8 turbo to turn into a track day car, i have someone who want to swap theirs for my bmw however my bm has 85k and the vw has 169, the vw has alot of service history so has been looked after and had a stage 2 remap which was done in the last 10k miles but im worried that i may stubble into some problems with this car and ive swapped it for a very good running car,, are the 1.8 turbos reliable at that millage?

Depends if there looked after. My mums s3 engine died after 120k but i had a a3 1.8t that was on 160k when i took the engine out to move into a old mk2. Thats still running now and nearly on 200k
