A TDI engine baffled

right ok i have noticed that on some tdi engines that that the oil cap on rocker cover is on the right hand side but mine is on the left.
can so one clear up what tdi engine mine is and is it the right one for my car  :undecided:

Look in the boot and get the engine code off the sticker.
What engine is it meant to be?
It doesnt look like a PD engine.
I often wonder why people never expect sarcastic comments from me - they're the only reason I speak...

its ment to be 1.9 tdi 110 bhp 1998 the car was first reg.

Thats what it is then. A 110 Non PD. :wink: Thought you was going to say its meant to be a 130bhp which look completely different.

the engine code in the boot is ahf if that help.

plus its sounds really diesel dont know if its ment to sound like but most diesel golfs in have heard sound quiter than mine.

it's non PD direct injection so will be a bit raw but i bet it's good on juice

See the square lump your fuel lines go in to, that's your HP diesel pump. Old clattering rotary type job. Noisey but bleeding efficient and very robust.
