no problem...wel..at least you know that the original fee with your average halfords is £40...so anything is better than that eh?
it may be that i'm over generous but its good deals where i get mor personal business!?
but look out for cowboys too....dont go with the whole...strip wire and just twist it together and tape it up idea...dat can lead to consequences...it may be less trouble as no connectors are added on but i would advise using at least female to male butt connectors to patch it up or the double ended butt connectors all for crimping use. and make sure who ever does the job assures the connectors arent about to fall off or are loose.
good luck
Why pay big bucks when you can do it yourself???

i have a mk3, and i just took out the glove box and lower dash part, cut what needed to be cut, and link it with some good wire connectors and crimped it all up. works fine, and crisp sound when turned up. cant fault it aslong as you know what your doing :D

aslong as you have the diagram so you kow what each colour wire in the car is, and the diagram of what colour on the headunit is. How can you go wrong, dont give in to halfords!!

Stereo is easy without ISO, its just a little fiddly, I have fitted them many times before.

Get a haynes manual you'll need it for future jobs anyway. This will help you ID the wires on the golf as in the good old days they used odd coloured wires.

The HU should be wired like this. Get some spade connectors and some insolation tape and some pliers and start connecting.

This may help:

Step by step for no ISO

Alrighty then I guess I'll give it a go, should really know how to do it anyway.

Basically I transfer the wires from the old adaptor to the iso one following the wiring diagrams?

Cheers for the help
