So I paint cleaned, polished and waxed my car the other day. Looks the shiz lol! But after a day or two it's covered in dust, what's the best way to make the dust stay away?
-
keep it garaged and never drive it lol
i normally give the car a quick going over with some quik detailer and a microfibre cloth to bring back the shine.
don't think there is a sure fire way of repelling dust

I keep a bottle of quick detailer and a microfibre cloth in the car. I guess that is the only way to do it then lol!
Whilst I'm here, when I washed the car, I use a drying towel for the drying process. Is that okay to use if there's wax on it?

thats fine as thats what i do (not saying what i do is right mind!) but my wax protection lasts for months when using a drying towel :afro:

Cool thank you. Last thing lol! I'm not sure how much wax you're meant to apply, I only put a thin layer on over the car, leave it for 20mins then rub off...?

sounds about right - what wax you using? i'm using Collinite 915 and apply in very thin layers - leave about 15 minutes then buff off; applied two coats on the weekend and looks superb
this picture is with one coat

Ahh that's cool, just wanted to make sure I was doing it right. Is it ok to apply two coats?

yes but leave a few hours between the two - apply anymore and you're wasting your time IMO as you can end up removing the previous layer

I'll bear that in mind, thanks man.

Having the same problem with dust/pollen, is worse on dark cars me thinks, esp. after it rains and beads
What I've read else where going with QD and a microfibre cloth could be a problem as you might scratch the paintwork with dirt etc.
There is some reference to using a car microfibre duster first and then do the QD.
