Thanks for your incredibly helpful reply  Rebecca.
I just need to print it out and follow the steps correctly now.
Whether I can ever get my car to look as good as yours is another matter entirely: )

More preparation than actual detailing:-

The Beetle desperately needs a machine polish so that's my weekend sorted.

Car was looking a bit dirty as it hasn't been washed for a week.

So gave it a (hurried) full wash and dry. Did snow foam, wheel clean, then 2 bucket wash, rinse and dry. Also couldn't resist dressing the tyres lol

However, I am a bit gutted as I think I didn't notice a small stone in the wheel mit and have put a nasty big scratch on one of the alloys

Pretty sure it's not down to the metal so hoping there's something I can do to fix it.

From the pic scratch looks like it might polish out.  Does it catch when you run your nail over it?  Got a DA?

It does catch on my nail but only very slightly. Not got a DA.

Should be doable by hand polishing.

Any polish you can recommend? Assuming use a foam applicator (I have wo-wo ones) or a microfiber.

Hoping to get some time to get the wheels off 2nd week in march - weather dependant of course! Will also put on c5 when done whilst I'm at it.

Going to do another CYC order soon as I want some wheel woolies and more snow foam.

I use Poorboys Super Swirl Remover Polishes which can be used for hand polishing - SSR1; SSR2; 2.5 etc.  Also look at Meguiars 105 and 205, and Autoglym Super Resin Polish (SRP).  And someone (elsewhere) recently recommended or Gtechniq P1 for hand polishing.

Use on the WoWo foam applicator and may need more than one go.

Wheel Woolies are the best!   Recommend ValetPro Neutral Advanced Snow Foam
