Anyone clued up on online gaming????

Hi, having problems the last 2 months playing cod on ps3! Round about 7:30 pm every night i start getting a poor connection, fluctuates between 1 red bar and 1 yellow bar. This is also causing terrible lag, seems like a 2 second delay. Really ruining my cod Any ideas what the problem could be? ive tried it with wired and wireless connections and still the same. Do speed tests and still getting 1600 kbps download speed sometimes whilst this is happening but sometimes only 900 Kbps. The needle on the speed tester sometimes fluctuates badly just during the test. Any one got a clue what the problem could be?

thats the thing, ive been playing on it for 3 years and its only been the last two/three month this has been happening. cant be hardware as its fine any other time, and all my mates from local areas never go below three green bars while im on red/yellow.

How are you connected to the net? Wireless router or hard wired? Could anyone else in your house be using the internet at that sort of time?

just myself in the house, ive tried it wired and wireless, just exactly the same with both. the wireless router is bang next 2 the ps3 basically. prob bout a metre apart. Called up orange and all they do is ask me to carry out linespeed tests, which come in as acceptable speeds. Im skunnerd! dunno what it could be

is your network secured? some freeloader might get home from work at 7.30 and steal your net could also be a firewal or something though I dunno why it would only kick in in the evenings

getting it on mw2 as well, been happening a few months. its a pain in the arse. na. checked the router and there is no other associated devices but mines :-S
