Yes if not even stronger. Gonna build technically a roll bar out of 40mm box and weld it to B posts then everything will be built from that then I'll build a sort of ladder type frame out of 30mm box for the base of pickup bed but I will incorporate them into the inner arches/wheel wells again welding everything, no bolts and to top it off I'll be welding in a mk3 golf hatch back complete tailgate to B posts aswell, I've done a few measurements and I reckon the mk3 tailgate glass should look good.
Going to take some time but the rear doors are now prepped to be welded up so instantly gain strength there.
Considering some of those posh chassis braces for underneath but I'm reckoning it won't need them and they are pricey

Interesting build, I've seen a few conversions done with wagons but never a Bora. If anything the tailgate and light clusters might work better on this. Crack on fella.

I wonder how many of you that viewed this thought it had come to a grinding holt?
Well no! Massive progress today and defo don't think I'll have any issues with chassis flexing being I've used 40mm box to build my frame

What a f*****g joke! Teaching my apprentice to weld today prior to bringing welder home and didn't think to check the gas before I left!
