what colours did the mk2 come in.
i want to get a nice rare colour
dont want to spend money on a respray
-
Well what colours do you like? In no particular order, some rarer colours:
Royal Blue Metalic
Bright Blue Metalic
Metalic Black
Calypso Green
Someone is bound to mention Oak Green, but I don't think its as rare as these tbh!
-
royal blue sounds nice
what about silvers
or metallic grey etc.
how much more are the rare colours
-
Theres a Diamond silver and Atlas grey metalic, both very nice colours :)
You shouldn't really pay much more for a MK2 just because its a 'rare' colour, unless its mint. But you would obviously be willing to pay more for a colour you like, over one you don't.
You like Royal Blue eh? Good choice, I picked mine up for £375, but it was a total shed. This is the day I bought it, and is the only pic I've managed to take which captures what Royal Blue looks like, its almost black in some lights, and a deep blue in others. Very nice, and very hard to find pannels for :(

Yeah, Id never seen a royal blue until i saw mine on a forecourt, it kinda changes as you get closer to it as well - awesome in bright sunlight. Anyway i thought it beat black, white or red any day so had it!

Yeah, Id never seen a royal blue until i saw mine on a forecourt,
ooh definatly looks black in the dark,i actually thought it was black
-
you feckers you have to rub in the fact that my Silver mk2 was rare, and I should have sold it for much more than the paltry £700 I settled for.... AND it was mint.
-
I have a bright metallic blue Mk2 GTi on a late J-plate.
There were only 500 made in this colour on a H and J plate (so 15/16 years ago...) doubt there are many left about, I've only ever seen 3 others all at Ultimate Dubs last weekend.
Its the best colour for a Mk2.

Mine's an LHD G60. There's a few G60's and GTI's around in that colour, but they're pretty rare.
She's off the road at the mo awaiting some forged aluminium pistons from the States for my engine rebuild!
