Title: Handheld scanners

Do the wee handheld scanners pick up every fault on your car? I've got the orange memoscan one but twice in the last fortnight I've had the red stop warning come up but no other info on dash,so I've scanned it but no faults are coming up,so i'm just wondering what the hell it can be

depends what triggerd the warning light,  for example there isn't a fault code for no oil pressure

But if it's oil pressure it tells you on dash doesn't it? Sure it did when my pickup pipe got blocked

Not always, vagcom will tell you more, I had issues once and the handheld scanner was not showing anything yet vagcam did.
