ive got some pics. I also wired it to a spare leccy window switch. looks stock

Just ran one single wire down the car to a spare central locking solinoid. In order for the solinoid to pop back in its position i used some elastic band so it pulls it back.

Connected the other end of the single wire to the switch, then from the switch to the heater fan's (Black and red wire).

Then the other wire on the solinoid to earth (-).
Screwed the solinoid in place using existing holes in the tailgate pannel. aligned the pull mechanism thing and your done!

The only tricky bit is to get the wire through the tailgate

No cutting, no drilling

total cost.....Zero

you can delete this once you get pics

mine was done when a bought the car dont no how lol... but basically its had the rear wiper took off... so the arm that activates the usual rear wiper is linked up to the solenoid... so push the rear wiper arm and the boot unlocks... canny clever like

Easiest thing to do,
Assuming the guys that are doing this arnt using the rear wiper (Doesnt matter if you are but you will need to run wires from a switch and position of solenoid might change)

1)  Get a central locking motor from a kit (Can be picked up on ebay or do a wanted ad) + the fixings
2) Mount the solenoid as shown in the picture, you will need a little connector box thing that connects the two metal rods (Before i found one i was going to use a chocolate box (Used for attaching wires together, avaliable from any car shop)
3) I used an original hole in the boot and a self tapper easy
3) Bend the rod from the central locking kit so that it linesup next to the original boot rod as shown in the pic, this can be done with a vice and plyers, you should be able to do it without the vice
4) Once its all mounted simply cut the plug from your rear wiper to leave 3 wires, connect 2 of them to the wires of your solenoid, everytime you press the rear wiper stalk your boot will pop
5) Replace the rear wiper relay with a headlight relay, this will ensure it only pops when you press it, and not every 10 seconds like the rear wiper
6) If its wired up to the rear wiper it only works when the key is in the ignition which is good for security!!

(Its also easy to pull new wires through the boot, just tape a screw to some string and drop it down from the top, tape the wires to the string and pull it all thru)

i did the same as above its pretty straight forward. Wired a central locking solenoid onto the rod that pops the boot open and wired the solenoid into the electric central kit. So when i arm/disarm my clifford the boot locks and opens with the doors.

And i fitted a small switch on the dash which pops the doors open when your inside the car, saves from reaching over your shoulder and pulling the door pin up lol

Okay. I did this on a Mk3. Couldn't find one of the little joiner blocks, but improvised after I broke the bent hook end off the original rod :/
Anyway, my question is, if I did it the long way, running a wire to the front of the car (which took aaages), which of the 3 wires to the wiper motor should I use as a ground. I tried connecting to the plate that holds it, but I only get ground when the boot is open for some reason

ground it on the boot lid or wiper motor itself

I tried grounding it to the motors mount, and also the boot lid (since they are attached to each other). The popper would only operate when the boot was open like this.
In the end I went for the middle wire on the block of 3. Works fine, and the wiper stays put :D.
