Bear in mind ADAC is only 80Euros for all Europe and their contractor *should* recover from the 'ring if the worst happens.  Oh and if you're a member you can use them in the UK and the AA show up.

Who's your insurance with?  You NEED to check you policy document, as it's odds on you categorically WON'T be covered on the 'ring.  There are a couple of insurers who do cover it, but you need to not call up insurers asking 'am I covered on the 'ring' because the answer will be 'NO'.  PM me if you need any more info.

Camping in mountain regions is for yoof and the very hardy only.  I wouldn't recommend it - it gets very cold at night!

It will be the time of your life.

You will need more than a weekend

You will be hooked.

Im insured through Adrian Flux at the moment.

That would have been another question as alot of recovery services in the UK wont recover you unless your a certain distance from a drag strip/race track.

If you have any useful info regarding anything to do with Nurburgring then i would appreciate it.

Is the track only open during certain periods of the year and times?

No, but it's recommended you wear one.

But only if EVERYONE in your car is wearing one, or you could brain your mates in a smash.

No.  You're going for 'touristfahren' - tourist driving.  The more standard and boring your car looks the better in the marshals' minds.

even though i wanna get as fastest time as possible road the track i can still go as a tourist.

Do the track people take pictures of the cars going round? will be taking a mate with me just incase i want him to get some pic's of the cars.

Think i will get a helmet if i can find somewhere that will measure me head for one. Last time i put one on i got it on fine but then got it stuck getting it off, had ears like slougth off the goonies

If you're timing you shouldn't be out there, as you'll fast become a statistic.

Oh and it'll invalidate your insurance.

You're also not allowed to video or take photos in the car - it is strictly forbidden and you'll get banned if caught.

Just enjoy it, it'll cost a lot less.

join the forum at www.northloop.co.uk but DON'T post until you've done a lot of reading.  They're top folks on there but they're a bit serious.  You'll see there's a photo section where various snappers post links to what they took on specific days.  You'll normally be able to find yourself if you did a few laps on a day.

Opening times are shown on the website I already linked to, but please note they're subject to change.

i will porbably only be doing it once, so would like to think i did my best around the track without going to the limits as i want my car to come back in one piece.

I would get me mate to wait somewhere to take a picture of me going round

DON'T.

Although I suspect you're ugly, you'll be a lot uglier smashed up and dead.

Go watch the Astra VXR video a few times and think about what you want to do.

Seriously, don't push it.  Unless you have Hurdy levels of talent you're going to get smashed up.

a few mates of mine went out there on Bikes - one with the mindset of i wanna do my best,

His bike is still out in Germany, somewhere.

The others summed it up, even on the next 2 or 3 visits ( yep, they are hooked )

I went in may this year, absolutely awesome loved every minute of it, i only did 5 laps but spent alot of time walking round perving on all the motors and also driving on the surrounding roads.

There are photographers all around the track taking snap shots of you so you just need to find the right websites to find your pics.

We went from sheffield to dover got ferry to calais and stayed over at a cheap hotel then went straight to nurburg, had 2 nights at nurburg then drove back to brussels for 1 night to break the journey up then back to calais from there and back upto sheffield.

Ferry was £50 return with sea france
European breakdown cover was £52 with AA
F1 hotel was £29 in calais
2 nights in nurburg was £60 B&B
1 night in brussels was £35
Fuel was £260 for the lot 1330 miles including 5 laps of the ring
Ring tickets are roughly £20 a lap or £70 for a 4 lap ticket
Then basically whatever you spend on food and beer!

As others have said just be careful and enjoy it

These are some of the pics took of me by the random photographers track side.....
