Sounds like a tricky one, gear linkage?

hmm possible just not sure how to narrow it down without taking whole gearbox and clutch apart..

With it been a TDI isn't it a cable shift set up like the mk3 Golfs?

took to garage new clutch is needed, got quoted £330 to get it replaced do i tackle the clutch myself or pay the money and get it done properly..

I know that clutch dilema very well after the appalling service I received a few years ago from Mr Crutch.
