V5 form help needed!
« on: 19 October 2014, 12:17 »
Hi everybody,
I am trying to register my 2.0 back in the UK having lived abroad for the past 4 years and the form is a nightmare. I am having a hard time trying to find all the relevant details to complete it, I'm pretty sure it's all the standard stuff on the V5 but as I don't have one anymore I'm a bit lost. If there's any 2 litre drivers out there who has a spare minute to give me a little help you'd be saving my life!
I've filled out all the obvious stuff but I can't find:
1. the type approval number
2. the type
3. variant
4. version
5. HC(g/km or g/kWh)
6. NOx(g/km or g/kWh)
7. Drive by sound(dB(A))
8. Mass in service
9. Stationary sound
10. Engine speed sound
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!

Ask a VW dealer for the COC or type approval paperwork quoting your VIN and you'll have all information in writing officially. They should not charge much for this at all - think around 10£ / 15€.

I just phoned VW but they're telling me to phone the DVLA who aren't open.
On the German document under certificate of registration number is VR350236 does that look like it could be the type approval number

You can get the COC online now, it will have all the correct information for your car:

You will need COC or certificate of mutual recognition anyway to register (I would have needed that to register my 2E estate).

60€ isn't too bad compared to the other things you need to get it registered (headlights and receipt that garage put them in and aligned them, DVLA appointment etc).

According to the DVLA all I need is to notify the inland revenue which I've done, get an MOT on the chassis number which I've done and to complete the V355/5 document. Once this is done i post of the mot certificate, the inland revenue confirmation and the completed form and pay the 55 quid registration fee, pay my road tax and that's me. I have got the majority of the information I need on my German registration document all I am missing is the type approval number, which I'm pretty sure is the number I posted before, VR350236. If that's similar to anyone elses then that's enough for me.
I need the type, which I think is M1, the variant, the version, the HC, the NOx, the max permissible mass and the engine speed sound level. It also wants the manufacturer which they say is different from the make so not VW. So all these things are the same for every 2.0 and will be on the V5 document so if anyone can have a quick squint at their V5 for these things they can save me 60 euro and make me a very happy chappy

No number that looks like E1*98/14*0071*19 ?

That would be an approval number (should be in the Fahrzeugschein).

VR350236 is the number of your (individual) German registration papers.
