These things are always a work in progress lol! I have a list as long as my arm for mine :) Sill protectors look great, same brand as your Mk6 ones correct?

Yeah Dan they are the same make as my Mk6 ones - Lockwood.  Really good quality and finish. Can't fault them and best of all they protect from the stone chips that come with having a gravel driveway.

Just for you Dan.

Thanks Bec, I feel much happier now!

Think the 5 doors suits the Mk7 better than 3 doors. Whereas on Mk6 I prefer the look of 3 doors but have a 5dr for practicality.

Your wipers are still up and the screen is dry
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

That was the trick photo.  Congratulations you passed the test ;-)

Just forgot to put them down whilst the screen was still wet, as I usually do. Not the first time I've forgotten.  Remembered as I was taking the photos.  Just dampen the blades first, then put back into normal position. No ill effects sustained.

Never really thought about the 5dr Mk7 looking better than the 3dr, and compared to the Mk6. But think you might be right, it does suit 5dr better, having compared a few pics now.  Regardless I need5dr for practicality as you do.  I think one of the great strengths of the Golf is it looks great in both versions.  Not the case with many other cars.  Don't like the R in Estate form at all though.

Was going to clean the rear arches and callipers today but weather and a tool situation (see here:http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=246903.msg2524496#msg2524496) meant that I gave up for today!

So my car still looks like this

Really would love to know who thought carpet would be a great arch lining material!!

Totally agree about the arch liner material on the rear. Front arches are great, really easy to clean being plastic, but the rears!!! Mud and dirt just clings to the lining fabric and there's no getting it off.

Gave my GTI a well eared bath at the weekend after it having it's Michelin Pilot Alpin Winter Tyres fitted.

Main job for the weekend was to give my Father-In-Laws 18 month old Range Rover Sport a thorough Winter Protection... Thoroughly cleaned, degreased, detarred and clayed, followed by a DA polish with Britemax BlackMAX to prep the paint, and a wax with Soft99 Fusso Light. Glass cleaned and sealed with GTechniq G1, tyres dressed, exhausts polished and interior wiped and hoovered. Simple job but looks miles better than it did!

MK7 GTI 3-Door DSG, Tornado Red, Discover Nav, Winter Pack, ACC, Keyless Go, Reversing Camera, Service Pack... Ordered 28th Oct... Collected 1st March!

It's for sound deadening.

I agree, it's a proper pain trying to clean it with the wheels still on. I guess the vast majority of people do little more than spray the hose under their wheel arches, so it doesn't really matter to them.
