Rear beam way out
« on: 22 January 2015, 09:02 »
Got my car tracked earlier this week which sorted out the front wheels, but as we all know the rear ones are not adjustable. So how can I sort out the rears!?

I put a print out up later but the are both pointing inwards by a couple of degrees...

Bent rear beam? Bent wheels? Bearing in wonky? What the hell can cause this?

I think the only way to fix this is trial and error with adjustable camber shims

Can you shim the stub axle to correct it?

This is the print out after - So front wheel are running straight, atleast toe in/out!

The rear wheels are all over the shop!

Surely you'd have to spend alot to recitify all of this!

Shims are not trial and error, with the figure you have in the print out you could correct this with Eibach ones.

But I would look at your rear bearings first
hand brake off, brake pads eased off the disk & wheel back on you should be able to feel play if its there.

Interesting vid, never seen these things.

I'll try giving my bearing a wobble.

I am not a perfectionist but knowing that all 4 wheels are on the piss, and not evenly annoyed me so much!

What are the specs for the rear geometry? I doubt it is 0.00 all over.

TBH, you have less than 0.6° of total toe (and that is toe in, not out) and -1° of camber either side. I don't see anything wrong with that  As long as the bushes and bearings are OK I would be perfectly happy with it.
