Recommend me a coil pack
« on: 17 November 2016, 07:40 »
My 91 8v gti is affected by damp.   It seems to be temporarily fixed if I spray the ignition coil with wd40.

http://www.eurocarparts.com/ignition-coil?gclid=CjwKEAiAgavBBRCA7ZbggrLSkUcSJACWDexAspRgBR3VnLR0PiBjPcrtJWlCZQ9JyDagof7BzLud7BoCp7jw_wcB

The picture on this one doesn't look anything like the coil though.   Any suggestions?

Lemski - thanks for that.
Have you found the unbranded coil is ok?

Ive had them before.
If you but in mk2 golf coil on ebay itll bring up a load. Thats just the cheapest i looked at.
But the main thing is they look right. I personally dont use euro for parts because they in my opinion mess too many orders up which means my customers dont get there cars back on time

OK, thanks.
I have had that experience with eurocarparts too, but then ebay sells some 'unfit for purpose' junk, but both are a step up from GSF!!

I bought a coil a while back from one of the mentioned well known suppliers. it seemed to work ok, but was getting hot to the point you could barely touch it, so i'm thinking they may have sold me a coil for the points style ignition (9v) instead of the electronic (12v). so watch out for that one
