I'm still hangin' around, gonna miss this car as it has been faultless for 6 years and 70K miles.
Just serviced it, put petrol in it and put tyres on it and the paintwork is in as good condition as it was when new.

Still on the original tensioner but it still sounds perfect on startup so looks like I escaped that one

Jumping ship to Audi (S3), so I'm going to have to learn to drive an inch from peoples bumper

Gave mine a wash and it changed back from being white/grey to lovely deep black again !!

Just about to order two new summer tyres then think about when I am going to change my alloys back over to summers(probably mid-April).

When I do, the winters are going to be sent off for a full refurb as they are in need.

(PS I spotted @SRGTD has his Rotary's for sale - so tempted but not sure they will look   against black)

Annual VW service and MOT.

They used a different type of bolt on the sump. It always has had a bolt type for the past 6 year. They have used a hex slot type this time. It better not leak.  Hope it is the same thread and fitment and they have not damaged the sump...

Old type

New type

Also detailed the car before it went in so looked as good as new.

Took it to Pistonheads Sunday service at Mercedes Benz. Great turn out but surprised by the lack of GTIs/Rs

Very nice car Snoopy.Regards the sump plug, the new one you have there is the correct one.
The early mk6 was fitted with the old type and was found to cause leeks on some cars,so was
Changed to the smaller one with the copper washer, the washer on the other one was not soft enough.

My wife has a mk6 1.4tsi and it has the older type, because the sump is made of a different mix of alloy.
That's the info supplied from my dealer parts department anyway.
