Different insurance groups.

& comparison sites are not the best thing to be using, they are nearly all owned by an insurance company anyway e.g. one is owned by Admiral so the best quotes are always theirs.

Try HIC, Adrian Flux, Greenlight, Sky, Brentacre etc.

Erm ?  LOL

I think they are politely saying they don't want your business (no idea why though, mild car, driving experience, clean license + NCB)

Keep trying other insurers & make sure it's over the phone rather than typing it in online.

I had an online quote from Sky Insurance that was £1600, which made me fall off my chair!
They called me the next day for feedback & adjusted the quote to £400.

Computer says "No", person on the phone says "Yes"

So nobody wastes their time, just tried Greenlight for my 1994 GTI and they now won't insure anything after 1990 on a classic policy.
