Thought I'd introduce myself. I had a Mk5 GT 1.4 TSI 170 as a company car from 2007-2010, beautiful thing, pearlescent blue, and after having an MX5 for a few years which ended up in a ditch (Chinese ditchfinder tyre, oops), and being carless for a while I now need a car for work and am thinking about a Mk5 GTI. After looking at all kinds of cars I've come back to the conclusion that a Golf will be the perfect mix of practicality and fun. My GT put up with so much abuse and even a nightmarish snowy/icy 5 hour trip home after an unexpected dump of snow, leaving me and many others stranded in Hemel Hempstead for a couple of hours!
