Title: Tracker panic
Post by: physio on 07 September 2013, 09:10
I have been entering my tracker number on VW site since 7-30 am and I just keeps telling me in red letters that it cannot find the number  . My build week starts 8/9/13  is this normal prior to the build beginning

Mine is doing the same thing. Order only arrived at the factory last week!

Same here :-(

Mine is doing the same.  Don't think there is anything to worry about.  Sometimes when they are in the middle of doing updates the system stops working for a while.  Around 06:00 the page wouldn't load at all!

 good luck with that one!!

It's been down since 6.30am - nothing to worry about, has been doing this periodically over the last 22 weeks

Hello, just new to the forum - my car is due end of October.  Might be nothing, but my tracker shows the interior as being Titan Black where it should be the Jacara interior, is this anything to worry about or just a mistake on the tracker?  Cheers

Titan Black is the norm for all GTD/GTI's.  Nothing to worry about

Welcome 5552North

Titan black is nothing to worry about. It's just how VW refer to Jacara cloth. Why the frig don't they just call it Jacara is anyone's guess

Btw what you ordered? Spec etc?

Add you car to the Spec No Spam sticky thread at top of page.

Out of interest when is the tracker likely to show build week confirmed? My dealer reckons my car is going to be built week 41 but the tracker still shows as with the factory. I smell BS, given the tracker isn't confirmed but thought I'd check in here

Kyle the tracker usually goes to build week confirmed 4 weeks prior to the confirmed build date.  Yesterday the tracker went to confirmed status for people with a build week of 40.  I would expect yours to go confirmed next friday if you are on BW41.

It's not BS. build week confirmed usually shows up 4 weeks in advance. So, should be next week for you. Fingers crossed

That doesn't sound right as I ordered leathers and that's what it says for me too.

Cheers H5O - I've got a standard 3 door in white on order, only option is the service pack.  Was ordered towards the end of June, I have a build week of 22 September and expected delivery of end of October, all being well.

Suppose calling the interior Jacara would be too simple, far better they have me fretting everytime I check the tracker......!

No it's not right.  The Titan Black refers to the car trim.  All GTI and GTDs are Titan Black.  Jacara cloth and Leather refer to the upholstery.  This is not mentioned on the tracker.

This question gets asked A LOT, VW should clarify it on the tracker.

Not to dash your hopes, and I hope yours moves through more quickly.  But mine was "Build in progress" for three weeks.

Hope you got a good deal from Scotswood Road, Benfield were not competitive for me (especially Silverlink). Trying to get any appreciable discount or freebies out of them was like pulling teeth (and I have a mate who works there in sales!). They wouldn't commit to a fixed part ex either - they gave me a variable figure, guaranteeing at least £1900 equity (based on the equity I had in it on the day of enquiry). They have been ok in the past, but for my last 2 cars I have gone to Pulman for a better deal. Not a bad lead time on your order - always a bonus!

I was happy enough with my deal from the Scotswood Road branch, looking back, once I'd ordered it you always find other dealerships who may have offered more, or use Drive the Deal - but I have a 09 plate MKVI GTI to part ex and couldn't be bothered trying to sell it privately etc so was reasonably content with the value they gave me.

To be honest though, they had me right where they wanted me, I was offered an hours unsupervised test drive straight away and they obviously know what they were doing as I signed up as soon as I got back ha!  Not saying I didn't get a discount but looks as though other people may have got more.

At the end of the day, I look at things like this, if I'm happy with the overall deal and the monthly payments then that's enough for me - you could forever chase a deal that makes a difference of a few quid either way, as long as you're happy with the deal you have then that's good enough for me.

After reading the length of time people have had to wait on here, I emailed the dealership to see if my order would be delayed, and to their credit, they got back to me with the build week date etc long before the tracker was updated so can't say fairer than that.

My biggest problem at the minute is trying to work out what cleaning products to buy in order to keep my first white car clean!!
