Weird desktop screen
« on: 03 April 2014, 09:19 »
This only happens on an irregualar basis!

The bottom bar changes colour!
Most of the time it is grey but sometimes it comes up as blue with a green Start button.
Stays like that all the time the PC is on. Next time it I start it up its back to grey.

Is this anything to worry about?

I dont have a screen saver, but have done in the past.

windows is switching between themes for some reason. grey is the classic theme and blue/green is the standard theme.

Done it tonight!

Now the PC has been switched on 3 times today, early morning, late morning and this afternoon and all 3 times it came up grey.
Now tonight its blue/green!

Loose DVI cable by the sounds of it, power off from all plugs then take out GPU and all wires going to monitor then make sure they are firm in the jacks when reattaching.
If that does not solve it, change out the DVI cable to see if its faulty or swap a GPU?
