Yeah I looked at the vids on YouTube too.

I did it just for the updated look really. I like the digital displays as they remind me of JDM Honda & Nissan from the 90s... Which I used to be into.
All of the functions work as they should, surprisingly!

Hi everyone, do you know how to remove the rear wiper cover? I have a replacement because my one is sun bleached.

Youtube suggests it should pull off, but its jammed on tight!

thought it was just push & pull? on a sidenote, does the car have to be put into service mode to change the front wipers?

You have to put the front wipers into the service position to be able to lift them up, yeah. I forget every time I wash the car. Turn ignition to position 2, then off again, then push wiper stalk down to activate service position.

Once the wipers are in the service position and lifted away from the screen to be able to remove the old / fit the new wiper blades, I’d recommend laying something like a thick towel on the screen, in case the wiper arm falls back down onto the screen after the old blade’s been removed. If it does do this and nothing’s been put on the glass to protect it, the metal end of the wiper arm can crack the windscreen.

glad i asked now! thanks guys, would be typical of my luck to crack my windscreen while changing the wipers lol

today i topped up my oil with 5-40 fully synthetic & i used obdeleven to set my digital speedo in the dash, much prefer that to the stupid km/h display that was there before

Sorry, its this bit, how do you remove it?

According to the instructions at the link below, it should unclip.
https://workshop-manuals.com/volkswagen/golf-mk6/vehicle_electrics/electrical_system/windscreen_wipe/wash_system/rear_window_wiper_system/removing_and_installing_wiper_arm/

If you can’t remove it, you could always consider reviving the colour of the existing cover with one of the many plastic trim dressing products on the market. Alternatively, you could paint it, although you’d probably need paint that’s specifically for use on plastics.

Thanks for finding that, will try and lever it towards the wiper blade as show in the diagram. It definitely doesn't "unclip" but its been on for nine years...

It lifts up and pull it out from the round section bit but you have to sort of hold the wiper partly up to get it out. It can get stuck due to corrosion of the wiper nut. It is a bit fiddly replaced my leon one which is the same not long ago as i stupidly cracked the top bit when washing the car.
