It can leave you with a dead ECU and you'll then need someone with appropriate equipment to rescue you.  It happened to me when I had the MK4 and as a result its in the bin

Equally it can write to some cars where the more expensive tools cant but do you want to take the chance? :huh:

To be fair everyone has a horror story and it sounds like you were a little unlucky Rhyso. Ive done mine and a few friends cars now and it seems to be spot on. I only went this route as i spent all my money on a recon head and new turbo and shiney bits lol

I wrote to the the MK4 a number of times without trouble and then just when I needed the car it failed and left with me a dead ECU

What are you going to do IF and WHEN it hap :sad:pens?  :undecided:
